My Uncle Richie Torony, who owned our house before us, was an avid builder
of stone walls. My father
continued the tradition. Here, in the Summer of 1970, he is moving
tons of earth with that little wheel-
barrow and notching out half of the hill in our backyard, building a stone retaining wall. Soon our
garage will be
built on this cleared spot.
